About the Journal

Equilibrium. Quarterly Journal of Economics and Economic Policy is a scientific journal dedicated to economics, which is the result of close cooperation between the Instytut Badań Gospodarczych/Institute of Economic Research (Poland) and Polish Economic Society and leading European universities. Our journal constitutes a platform for exchange of views of the scientific community, as well as reflects the current status and trends of world science and economy.

We especially welcome empirical articles making use of quantitative methods in:

  • Macroeconomics and Monetary Economics

  • International Economics

  • Financial Economics and Banking

  • Public Economics

  • Business Economics

  • Labor and Demographic Economics

  • Economic Development, Technological Change, and Growth

Current most preferable topics and special issues:

  • The economics of artificial intelligence: macro, micro-governance, business potential and risks 

  • Job loss and mass unemployment in generative artificial intelligence economy

  • Generative artificial intelligence-based work processes and labor productivity: macroeconomic perspective

  • Internet of Robotic and of Manufacturing Things economy: macroeconomic consequences and governance policy implications

  • Digitalization and digitalized entrepreneurship: macro-governance

  • Sustainable socio-economic development, environmental and ecological economics: applications of cutting-edge technologies (AI, digital twin, extended reality, etc.)

  • Transition in the energy market (improving energy efficiency, alternative energy sources, renewable energy, energy security)

Our journal is addressed to the international community. As a result, even when the main empirical focus of the submitted research is restricted to a given country or region, we expect that the articles contribute significantly to the international literature in the field. Therefore, the submitted articles should provide discussion on the given research from the international perspective. Finally, the submitted articles should provide high integrative value in Web of Science and Scopus-indexed publications.

The journal is co-financed in the years 2022–2024 by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Poland in the framework of the ministerial programme “Development of Scientific Journals” (RCN) on the basis of contract no. RCN/SN/0129/2021/1 concluded on 29 September 2022 and being in force until 28 September 2024. Subsidy amount: 60 000 PLN.
